Due in part
to donations from past Fund Runs, the Centre County Library was
able to purchase a bigger and brighter Bookmobile this past spring.
This specially equipped mobile library travels about 18,000 miles
a year and costs over $80,000 annually to operate. The Bookmobile
serves all areas of Centre County from distant Pine Glen and Stormstown
to nearby Pleasant Gap and Howard. Each year an average of 18
to 20 thousand patrons of all ages uses this service. Most have
no access to a traditional library, which is why the Bookmobile
benefits the citizens of the outlying areas of
Centre County.
